  • UC Hastings College of the Law (magna cum laude)

Becca Furman is a litigator who represents victims of sexual assault in lawsuits against the public entities and private institutions that failed them. She also regularly represents business clients in breach of contract, trade secret, and founder disputes.

In both her sexual assault and business cases, Becca is experienced at representing clients at all stages of litigation, always proceeding with an eye toward trial.  Her trial experience includes second-chairing a two-month jury trial against a local school district involving the sexual assault of multiple students at the hands of their teacher.  The case resulted in a successful post-trial settlement.  Becca also recently defended a company against breach of contract, trade secret misappropriation, and CFAA/CDAFA claims in a multi-million-dollar federal trial.

Becca couples her advocacy with pragmatic litigation strategy, regularly obtaining successful settlements on behalf of her clients and avoiding the cost of trial.   As just one recent example, Lewis & Llewellyn LLP obtained a settlement of $2.75 million for a sexual assault victim.  She has also negotiated settlements for founders of Bay Area start-ups whose co-founders have attempted to seize control of the company and has negotiated the early resolution of multiple cases on behalf of companies facing potentially business-ending breach of contract and trade secret allegations.

Becca has been named a Super Lawyers Rising Star every year since 2016. Becca serves as Co-Chair of the Bar Association of San Francisco’s Solo & Small Firm Barristers Executive Committee and is a member of the Litigation Section Barristers Executive Committee.   Becca also serves on the Associate Board of Girls of the Run of the Bay Area, an after-school nonprofit that teaches elementary schools girls life skills and confidence through a running-based curriculum.

Outside of the office, Becca can be found trail running on Mt. Tam, baking sourdough bread, or reading next to her Bassett Hound/terrier mix, Ella.
