Madeleine is an experienced litigator focused on complex commercial and intellectual property disputes in the technology space. She represents both plaintiffs and defendants at every stage of litigation, from early case assessment and strategic counseling through trial and appeal. Her litigation approach emphasizes rigorous research, clean writing, and creative problem-solving. She enjoys the challenge of translating complex technical subject matter into clear and accessible written advocacy. Madeleine has been named a Super Lawyers Rising Star in Intellectual Property (2025-2026) and a Best Lawyers Ones to Watch in Intellectual Property Litigation (2026).
Before joining Lewis & Llewellyn, Madeleine practiced at Hogan Lovells US LLP and Alto Litigation, PC in San Francisco, where she concentrated on high-stakes competitor disputes in the high-tech and biotech industries. Her work spanned copyright, trademark, patent, and trade secret matters, along with a diverse array of commercial disputes involving contract and business tort claims. She also maintained an active pro bono practice focused on voting rights and election law, reproductive rights, and representing individuals in the criminal justice and immigration systems.
During law school, Madeleine clerked in the felony division of the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office and served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Haywood S. Gilliam, Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. She also served as Co-Director of Berkeley Law’s Moot Court team.
Madeleine is a longtime Bay Area resident and devoted California enthusiast. Outside of the office, she can be found (usually with her husband) on a hiking trail, at Ocean Beach, at a concert, or in her community pottery studio.
