Melissa Smith is a seasoned Financial Controller with over 15 years of experience in the legal industry.  She has a strong background in law firm financial management, specializing in budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance.  Her proficiency in financial analysis and reporting, combined with her deep understanding of legal billing practices, enables her to provide valuable insights that support operational efficiency and growth.  She excels in implementing financial systems that streamline operations and enhance reporting capabilities.  Melissa is committed to fostering financial transparency and supporting strategic initiatives within law firms.

Prior to joining Lewis & Llewellyn, Ms. Smith was the Financial Controller of a couple of entertainment law firms, a family law firm, and a personal injury law firm.

Ms. Smith earned her Bachelor of Business Administration-Accounting degree from Marshall University.  She also earned an Associate in Applied Science-Legal Assistant with honors degree from Marshall Community and Technical College.
